Picture this, you have just spent a fantastic day in Whistler exploring the mountains, and you make your way back into the village. You are thirsty. You are hungry. You need a Whistler happy hour.
Happy hour is a non-skiers Apres with menu items offered at super reduced prices. The usual happy hour is right before dinner rush and you’ll find deals on both food and drinks.
Here is the real kicker: happy hour usually runs for more than an hour. So you have plenty of time to enjoy a discounted menu.
Most restaurants and bars in Whistler offer happy hour at some point in the day; you only need to decide which one tickles your fancy the most.
Okay, okay, maybe this isn’t technically a food-related happy hour — but its one of the most famous trails on Mount Sproatt in Whistler. We’ll leave it as a Whistler Happy Hour honourable mention!
The 20 Best Happy Hours in Whistler
1. Earls
We are starting this list off with a Whistler local favourite happy hour. Earls is known for its amazing happy hour across Canada, and it is no surprise that it is a favourite here in Whistler.
Available daily from 3 to 5 pm and then again from 10 pm to close, the happy hour menu includes sushi, oysters, espresso martinis, spritze, draft beers and more.
2. Pizza Antico
Who doesn’t like pizza? What about discounted pizza and beers? Now that is a winning combination that is hard to beat.
Pizza Antico is a hidden little gem beside the Whistler Village Stroll on Main Street and offers $4 BC Craft Beers and $8 Margherita pizzas daily from 3 to 5 pm.
3. The Keg Steakhouse and Brandy’s Bar
A well-known chain across North America, The Keg in Whistler has something unique, and that is the little bar underneath called Brandys.
You will find a daily cocktail hour in the bar from 4 -6 pm and again from 9 pm-close. Enjoy $5 Miller High Life, $6 gins, $6 Keg caesars, $7 wines and $7 Heinekens. There are also selected happy hour prices on some of the appetizer menus.
4. Hunter Gather
A little bit different from other restaurants in Whistler, Hunter Gather offers casual counter-order meals with excellent locally sourced ingredients.
Their happy hour includes $5.50 sleeves of beer and either a pulled pork sandwich or falafel wrap for $14 between 3 – 5 pm and again at 8-10 pm.
5. Stonesedge
You might not even notice Stonesedge as you walk into the stroll as it is very nicely tucked away across the stroll from Tapleys pub.
They have a sunny patio to enjoy $5 Whistler beers and $6 wines. Their happy hour runs daily, and if you are looking for a nightcap, they offer $10 cocktails from 10 pm – 1 am.
6. Amsterdam Cafe Pub
Located in the heart of the village, Amsterdam or “the Dam,” loves cheap drinks, good vibes and the happiest of hours.
Mondays to Thursdays from 12 – 3 pm, they offer a $20 sandwich/burger, larger combos, and a $40 nacho and pilsner jug. Are you looking to drink? Their $17 pitchers are also available during this time.
7. Milestones
Perfect for families and large groups, Milestones is located in the upper village and has a lot of room for you and your friends to enjoy their happy hour.
Running daily, you can enjoy $5 wines and beers, $6 bellini and $7 cocktails. They also offer a 1989 burger for $16 if you need something to fill you up.
8. Raven Room
One of the most extensive happy hour menus available, the Raven Room has something for everyone.
Enjoy $6 beers, $10 cocktails, $7 wines and appies ranging from $13 spicy Thai chicken, $12 crispy cauliflower, to $16 beef tartare daily from 3 – 5 pm.
9. The Mallard Lounge and Terrace
Nestled at the base of Blackcomb Mountain and located in the Fairmont, the Mallarge Lounge has a fantastic happy hour from 5 – 7 pm every Friday.
Fairmont Fridays are a first-come, first-served walk-in basis offering $6 beers, $7 wines, $8 cocktails and $9 appies. So get in quick as it is trendy.
10. Mexican Corner
Are you looking for a bit of spice in your happy hour? Mexican Corner is the place for you as their “Fiesta Hour” is an excellent start to any night.
Monday – Thursday from 5 – 6 pm and Friday – Sunday from 3 – 4:30 pm, treat yourself to $9 margaritas, $5 Modelo Especial or $6 tequila shots.
11. Fitz Pub
A small and quiet pub located in the upper village, the Fitz Pub is a great spot to unwind after a long day of Whistler adventures.
Their happy hour is available weekdays from 7 – 9 pm and includes $5 draft beers, wines and $4 single wells. Unfortunately, they do not have a kitchen on site. However, they have a selection of bar snacks.
12. Splitz Grill Whistler
Known to everyone who visits Whistler as arguably the best burgers in town, Splitz Grill is also home to an impressive happy hour menu.
Available from 2-5 pm, $6 can get you some poutine, single caesars or a pint of draft beer. They also have daily specials on select burgers, and you have a very satisfying happy hour.
13. Cinnamon Bear Bar and Grille
Located in the Hilton hotel, Cinnamon Bear is a hot spot for pool and watching sports. In summer, they also open up their awesome outdoor patio.
Their happy hour bites are available from 3 – 5 pm Monday to Friday, offering a gourmet hotdog. During this time, they also offer $5 draft beers, house wines, single spirits and $8 double spirits.
14. Brickworks
Are you looking for a boozy happy hour? Then, Brickworks might be the one for you. With a fabulous patio for people watching and a cozy indoor decor, it is hard to beat Brickworks for a quick drink. Starting at 3 pm and finishing at 5 pm daily, the bar offers double craft gin and tonics for $11, $9 for large house wines and $6.75 craft beer pints. It is safe to say you will feel a little buzz from this happy hour.
15. Pangea Pod Hotel
Who would have guessed that a pod hotel would have such a fantastic happy hour? Pangea even has communal board games to play while you drink and eat.
Available Monday – Friday from 1-5 pm and again after 10 pm, patrons have access to $3.90 beers, $4.9 shots, $5.90 mixed drinks, $6.90 wines, and $7.90 cocktails or the can mix pizza and apre drinks for $18.40.
16. Main Street Noodles
If you are looking for a lunchtime special, the lunchtime happy hour from Main Street Noodles is almost too good to be true.
For $11.99, you can get a main, two spring rolls and a soft drink between 12 and 5 pm. The mains depend on the day of the week and vary from coconut curry to pad thai.
17. Dubh Linn Gate Irish Pub
The local Irish pub is a safe bet for anyone looking for a good pint, and the Dubh Linn is no exception.
Happy hour runs Sunday to Friday between 5 – 7 pm. BC craft beers, highballs and 6oz wines are always $5.75 during this time. Each day represents something different on the menu, from 2 for $25 fish and chips on Mondays to $22 Burger and a pint Wednesdays.
18. The Longhorn Saloon
Easily the most iconic night spot in Whistler, from its legendary patio to always fun champagne guns, the Longhorn Saloon always delivers good times.
On Mondays, enjoy 25% off flatbread and $12 double mountain mules, Tuesdays are 25% off burgers and $7.50 Deep Cove craft beers; on Wednesdays, dive into 25% off wings and $20 bulldogs.
19. Alpine Cafe
Located in Alpine, just a five-minute car ride north of the Whistler Village, Alpine Cafe will make you feel like you are a true Whistler local.
Their daily dinner specials are posted on their Facebook page, ranging from $16 burgers and pork schnitzels with fries for $19 to chicken and beer combos for $20. They are fully licensed with draft beer.
20. Firerock Lounge
One of Whistler’s more chilled-out and sophisticated vibes, the Firerock Lounge offers happy hours that are on offer according to the day, not the hour.
You can get yourself a $12 martini on Mondays, $12 tequila cocktails on Tuesdays, Wednesdays are $12 Whiskey, Throwback Thursdays offer $12 old-school cocktails, and Fridays are $12.50 scotch cocktails.
21. Forged Axe Throwing
